What is BHRT?

BHRT stands for Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy which is using hormones that come from plants to replace & replenish abnormal hormone levels in both men and women.

Hormonal imbalances can take place at any age and affect both men and women. Women experience symptoms during menopause or a hormone imbalance. The primary hormone in females is estrogen, which exists in three different forms in the body: estrone (E1), estradiol (E2), estriol (E3). Progesterone (P4), testosterone, and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) are also prominent hormones in the body. Bio-identical hormones can help restore natural balance in the body and may help alleviate your symptoms.

This means we work with you and your provider to personalize your hormone therapy to restore your hormones to optimal levels. Even though hormone replacement products are commercially available, making these products is a big part of what we do! So, why take a compounded product instead of a commercially available one?

Well, the major difference between BHRT and HRT is the substances used to create them.

BHRT is derived from plant sources that are chemically similar to the hormones your body naturally produces. Traditional HRT products are made from the urine of pregnant horses and other synthetic hormones.

Multiple ingredients can be combined into a single dosage form for convenience and to ensure better patient compliance. Compounds are specifically tailored to a patient’s personal labs and symptoms.

We offer a BHRT package only for patients who already have a provider who is willing to prescribe BHRT for them. In this package, your provider will send me your lab results and I work with you and them to design the best bio-identical hormone replacement treatment for you. To use this package, you must already have a provider who is willing to prescribe BHRT for you.
